A Jarry embarrassing third period

You're embarrassed? I am a devs fan. Our 4 centres of Nico/Hughes/Zacha/Mcleod are all under 25, drafted 1st, 1st, 6th, and 12th overall respectively, and our best Centre is our 5th rd selection Sharangovich in his rookie season.

Devs are embarrassed. Feel free to run up the score, we don't even hit or fight. A soul-less team at the moment.

If the Pens don't feel utterly embarrassed and ashamed to the point where they don't give 200% through 60 minutes next game, win or lose, then they really don't deserve much.

You're a SUPER young team trying to find their way. This is supposed to happen to you. I don't mean that in a nasty way. Teams in your position are expected to have more than just a couple terrible games as they build. For a playoff team claiming to be contenders, it's not acceptable.

You guys were lucky to escape with the win. We employed our trademark strategy of spotting the opposing team 5-6 goals and once they fall asleep out of sheer boredom..... WE STRIKE!

That is a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off for them....

The way that I'd view it, is at least your team didn't give up. They were down 0-6 then battled back and almost tied it up.

I touched on this in the last thread, but the Pens probably won't be in the position to keep him even at his current salary. They have a few things to navigate and probably some tough decisions to make. They likely have to move out Pettersson and possibly Zucker just to be able to re-sign Blueger and ZAR.

Yeah I guess we will start to see hextalls touch over the off season. I’d have to say pett’s writing is on the wall. I’d imagine rikola as well since I imagine hexy will want to keep Friedman where he has played the most on LD. I think I’d try to move/waive Ruhw if ceci signed for a similar price to this year.

At least the expansion draft will have to claim one person but I would try to trade zucker or petts before that happens to at least recoup something and hope the draft gets the other. I’m not hating on zucker just his 5.5m cap hit is a lot.

Will be interesting to see the team start to take shape this off season.

Don't tell that to Letang. He got rocked by Bastian.

Devils are insanely young. I saw a post that the Devils fwd average age is less than a specific College Hockey team. They were without Zacha, Bratt, Ty Smith, Blackwood, and yes even PK. PK has been playing better of late. They have the 3rd youngest team and the youngest fwd team. The Devils have some promising prospects in the pipeline and will look to establish their core to build around. This was a game the Pens should have won and did. Nothing more, nothing less.

I started watching a hockey game last night that ended with a tennis tie break score. Not exactly rounding into playoff shape.

Pens always seem to squander big leads.

You should be embarrassed for saying our best center is Sharangovich. C'mon man, he's not better than Nico or Jack. And that's not a knock on Sharangovich, he has been very good this season. You might need to take a walk and cool down.

I think what we'll see to start next season is:
Dumo-Tanger
Math or Petts-Marino
POJ-Friedman
One of Math or Petts will be traded I believe.

Letang has looked very bad for the past month or so. If he keeps playing like that this team will lose in the first round of the playoffs again, considering the ice time he generally gets.

He and Jarry were most responsible for the third period collapse. Jarry should definitely sit a game or two.

Yah, slightly off. Dumo is getting a lot more aggressive in the O zone right now and it has resulted in some odd man breaks (the first line wingers do not like to cover for the D when they pinch) but even at that shots, goals, and scoring chances are all over 50% for him. And he is producing! He has 14 points in the last month. Tied with Rust lol

Yeah, in a full contact jersey nonetheless... He also told everyone it was a "foot injury" not ankle

I just hope he isn't stuck in rehab time as long as Blueger was...

Sully said he'd potentially be back around the 22nd-26th

Sully just commented on him. Basically said he will need to get his conditioning during games because they don't have enough practice time left. Probably will play 4th line minutes for a few games as soon as he is medically cleared.

The guy has been borderline stud for most of that time period, since February, really. Last night was gross, no question, but lets not let emotions creep into analysis.

Nice, kinda like when he started the season late and missed camp.
